Table 6-8 - Plant Species Composition (%) for Well Pad 1A-411, July 2009
Change 2009 Native Similarity w/ 2009
2007 2008 2009 2008 to 2009 Rangeland._ Native Rangeland
Perennial 52.8 62.03 55.69 -10.2% 53.58 +3.7%

Perennial 9.5 19.3 24.07 +19.8% 17.46 +27.4%
r
Annual Grass 3.3 0 0.58 +100% 2.56 -77.3%
Weed Forbs 20 1.6 0 -100% 1.07 - --100%
Shrubs 14.4 17.07 19.66 +13.1% 25.33 -22.3%
Total 100 100 100 ------- 100 -------
There continues to be good survival and uniform distribution of the seeded species across this
site. The cover of perennial grasses and forbs exceeds that of native rangelands. Production
values of perennial forbs and shrubs have made substantial gains from levels recorded in 2008.
Cover of shrubs increased by 29.8 percent over 2008 levels but remains 37.0 percent below
values measured on native rangelands. Production of shrubs increased 21.9 percent in 2009 but
remains 35.6 percent below native rangeland production. Total vegetative above ground biomass
production increased 10.1 percent in 2009 but remains 17.0 percent below that on native
rangeland.
The following statements compare the values measured in 2008 for Well Pad I A-4HI to the
reclamation goals/requirements:
• The production of perennial grasses is 86.3 percent and production of perennial forbs is
112.5 percent of that on native rangeland; nearing the requirement for perennial grass of
being equal of that measured on native rangeland and exceeding the requirement for
perennial forbs.
• The cover of all perennial herbaceous species exceeds that of native rangeland by 12.8
percent; substantially exceeding the requirement of being equal of that measured on
native rangeland.
• The composition of perennial forbs exceeds that of native rangeland by 27.4 percent;
substantially greater than the required 4 percent of that measured on native rangeland.
• The composition of shrubs is 77.7 percent of that on native rangeland; substantially
greater than the required 12 percent of that measured on native rangeland.
All the reclamation goals/requirements are being met or exceeded at this site with the exception
of production from perennial grasses. It is likely the site will achieve the requirements within a
few years without additional reclamation efforts as perennial species continue to mature and
increase their production.
2009 Annual Report 18 of 33
