Fencing is utilized to protect reclamation during establishment and to keep livestock out of the mud pits. 6.3.4 Precipitation Precipitation gauges are located near the P/A injection well 90-5 (tipping gauge) and near monitoring well EX-2 (V-gauge). Based on perennial vegetation, which is an indicator of long-term precipitation, the "normal" precipitation for the NSI site is 12-14 inches for the calendar year. The distribution of precipitation is important for reclamation.
