(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1998-060
INSPECTION DATE: 1/14/10 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: FCS_
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection for the Dorsch Pit, a Kit Carson County 11 Oc sand and gravel permit,
conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS traveled with Kit Carson Road and Bridge representative Walt
Isenbart to the site and observed the site with him at approximately 0940. The permit sign was present although
the permit number is difficult to read due to a gunshot. There were no permit boundary markers present on the
south side of the site. The sign should be repaired, and appropriate permit boundary markers placed to define
the extent of the permit area.
Kit Carson County currently has 9.7 acres permitted at this location. The County may wish to amend the
permitted area to the maximum allowable 9.9 acres under a I I Oc permit if mining is to continue. This site is
located immediately west of a historically disturbed area that the county will also be reclaiming as part of an
agreement with the landowner.
No other issues were observed during this inspection.
Photo 1 - Dorsch Pit looking east from west side of pit.
