(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1982-079
INSPECTION DATE: 1/13/10 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: FCS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection for the Brenner Pit, a Kit Carson County 110c sand and gravel permit,
conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS. DBMS traveled with Kit Carson Road and Bridge representative Walt
Isenbart to the site, and observed the site with him at approximately 1130. The mining site identification sign
was observed at the site entrance, however it was in rather poor condition with some missing letters. The extent
of the permit area was defined by t-posts.
This is a stream-channel pit, and Kit Carson County has only 3 acres currently permitted at this location. The
disturbed area appeared to be 3 acres or less, however, the marked area likely exceeds 3 acres. The County
should verify that the permit markers correspond with the 3 acre permitted area. If the marked area exceeds 3
acres, the boundary markers will need to be re-located to encompass no more than 3 acres. The county may
wish to amended the permit to increase the permitted acreage up to a limit of 9.9 acres. (Greater than 9.9 acres
would require a 110 to 112 permit conversion) No other issues were observed during this inspection.

Photo 1- representative photo of disturbed area and material stockpile along eastern border of permit area.
