RECEIVED
.IAN 19 ZW
Division of ' edamatdon,
W16,n9 and Safety
January 14, 2010
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203
Attn: Sandy Brown; Marcia Talvetti; Dan Mathews
RE: Permit Revision - W. F. C. - No. C-81-008
The intent of this letter is to voice my opposition to the proposed changes in land
classifications and the revision of mined lands by Western Fuels - Colorado.
Though it is true that no mined land will ever look, or be, exactly like it was before
mining, an attempt should be made to reclaim it to its highest and best use as agreed upon
when the contracts were made with the owners and the permit was issued. The rules of
the game should not be changed in the middle. Simply put, if it was irrigated land, put it
back as such and release it in a timely manner. As a side note, I think to tie up the
property for 10 - 20 years after the mining is completed, and not releasing it back to the
land owner is too long.
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety should require Western Fuels -
Colorado to comply with the permit as issued and reclaim the land as promised.
Respectfully,

Shawn Mock
