with no chemicals required for processing and refuse will not be generated. Sand and <br />gravel are basically inert materials. Only by direct precipitation will stormwater enter the <br />site. CDPHE Stormwater Permit requires 100% site containment. <br />3.1 - Structural Practices <br />Stormwaters (precipitation) and associated sediments entering active pit and <br />haul/loading areas will be contained by using a combination of earth sediment retention <br />berms, ditches and silt fences (where necessary). As there will be no waste rock or <br />disposal area stockpiles at this site, besides the site perimeter, it will only be necessary to <br />install BMPs adjacent to the active areas of the pit, along haul roads and at site access <br />points. <br />The proposed operations will have minimal impact on the surface and ground water <br />resources in and around the affected area. Site operations excavating into an excavation <br />on flat ground will groundwater and create a sump no effect on water rights, drainage, or <br />the hydrology of the area. <br />3.2 - Non-Structural Practices <br />Non-structural BMPs at the site will consist of preservation of existing vegetation <br />adjacent to the exterior boundary of the area of mining operations.
