<br />PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />Notice of proposed Decision
<br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and
<br />Safety has issued a proAposed decision to Partially
<br />approve Bond Release pplication No. 6 (SL-6) for
<br />the North Thompson Creek Mine, Permit No.
<br />C-1981-025. The mine is operated by MINREC,
<br />Inc. under the provisions of the Colorado Surface
<br />Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond
<br />release application was submitted by MINREC, Inc.
<br />on October 10, 2006. The proposed decision is for
<br />a partial approval of Phase I, ll, and III bond re-
<br />lease application. The proposed partial approval is
<br />for a bond release amount of $32,115, leaving
<br />$10,000 of bond. The proposed release includes:
<br />reclamation of four flumes, reclamation of two pie-
<br />zometers, and termination of regulatory jurisdiction
<br />on lands that either were unaffected by mining op-
<br />erations or that previously received Phase III bond
<br />release. The amount of land proposed for release
<br />is 2,924.90 acres. The area subject to the release
<br />is located in Garfield and Pitkin Counties, Colo-
<br />rado, approximately 9 miles southwest of the town
<br />of Carbondale in Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34,
<br />Township 8 South, Range 89 West, and approxi-
<br />mately 3 miles northwest of the town of Carbon-
<br />dale in Lots 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Section 29, Township
<br />7 South, Range 88 West and Section 5, Township
<br />8 South, Range 88 West..
<br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for
<br />review at the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
<br />Mining and Safety office, 1313 Sherman Street,
<br />Room 215, Denver, Colo-ado 80203, and at the of-
<br />fice of the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder.
<br />Any person who has an interest which is or may be
<br />adversely affected may request an adjudicatory
<br />hearing regarding this proposed decision. Re-
<br />quests for a hearing must be made in writing within
<br />thirty (30) days of the first publication of this notice,
<br />and shall state with reasonable specificity the rea-
<br />sons for the request and objections to the pro-
<br />posed decision.
