Annual Hydrology Report. This is due to the fact that on or around 9 April 2008 Minrec
was notified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Water
Quality Control Division (WQCD) that the North Thompson Creek Mine would need to
reapply for a Colorado Discharge Permit for the site. On 28 April 2008 Minrec reapplied
for a CDPS permit and that permit is apparently still under review by WQCD. Once
WQCD approves and issues a new CDPS permit for the North Thompson Creek Mine,
the required surface water monitoring will need to be reinitiated per the CDPS permit and
Minrec will need to submit that data in the following year(s) AHR submittal.
Based on a review of the 20.09 Annual Hydrology Report for the North Thompson Creek
Mine and a review of the approved permit application, partial Phase I, II and II Bond
Release SL-06 and related correspondence, the Division does not have any questions or
comments regarding this report. Please contact me at (303) 866-3567 X8145 if you have
any questions.
Sincerely,
James R Stark
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Sandy Brown
