Subsequent to the
termination request, a request for conversion of the discharge permit to a stormwater only
permit was submitted to the Health Department. This request also remains pending at this
time.
SEDIMENT POND INSPECTIONS AND DISCHARGES
The Carbon Junction Mine had two sediment ponds, 001 and 002. Michael Savage of
Savage and Savage, Inc. prepared inspection reports for both sediment ponds during the
first (October 29, 2008) and second (March 31, 2009) quarters of the 2009 water year.
Sediment pond inspection reports and the request for quarterly inspection termination and
concurrence are appended. No significant concerns were identified during the
inspections.
Sediment ponds 001 and 002 did not discharge during water year 2009. Copies of the
discharge monitoring reports for the 2009 water year are appended to the end of this
report.
Carbon Junction Mine Page 2
Annual Hydrologic Report for Water Year 2009
