_ MAN;
FRONT RANGE
A G G FR E G A-FE S
December 28, 2009
Program Administrator .
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO. 80203
RE: 2009 Parkdale Project Annual Report - Permit #M-1997-054
Dear Sir/Madam:
Please find enclosed a check in the amount of $791 and a map detailing mine activity to date. In 2009,
Front Range Aggregates proceeded to mine in the area on the west end of the permit made available by
the 2008 amendment.
A color coded map is enclosed illustrating the mining and reclamation activity at Parkdale. Future
annual reports will show extraction in previously mined areas but beneath the water table as is now
allowed under the amended permit. Dewatering permit and Substitute Supply Plan are in place and will
be managed to achieve the guidelines required in the permit and plan.
Due to the drastic reduction in market demand for aggregate, actual annual extracted volumes are
significantly less than those projected in the permit amendment application. Consequently, the phased
warranty approved by the Division estimated for years 1-4 will not be exceeded or even reached. As
required by the DRMS Amendment Approval, a more detailed explanation of the reclamation and
warranty status will be submitted in the 2012 annual report.
Domestic well water levels have been a major concern of the neighbors and therefore, we are continuing
to track the monitoring wells on mine property. Although it has been proven that the Parkdale Project is
hydrologically disconnected from all of the wells south of the Arkansas River, water depth monitoring
wells located on the southeastern boundary are being measured semi-annually and measurements
included with this report. Briefly, the variations in well measurements, although significant from year to
year are generally consistent with seasonal ground water fluctuation observed elsewhere on the property.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you should have any questions regarding this report.
Sincerely,
Michael Sheahan
President
1161 S Perry Street #110, Castle Rock CO 80104 303.736.6422 Fax 303.736.6423
