Mining will progress through the Phases numerically. A table of expected mining lives for each
Phase is included in Table D -2. The life of each Phase is based on the anticipated annual
maximum tonnage. Any available topsoil from a new area will be used to reclaim the previously
mined areas. This will reduce material moving as well as reduce the maximum area to be
reclaimed. Since there is not sufficient topsoil on ffi
a site to reclaim the site, some screening tines will be salvaged and tested to determine necessary
additives to make the fines suitable for reclamation topsoil.
The pit will be isolated from surrounding run -off by a berth along the highwall during mining.
Also, a catch berm will placed along the road on the south side of the pit to prevent stormwater
from leaving the pit. Stormwater run -off calculations are shown in Exhibit G.
