Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is reassigning some of the lead <br />responsibilities for coal mine permits. Mike Boulay will replace Marcia Talvitie as the <br />lead specialist for the Elk Creek Mine. Mike will work with Marcia as necessary to <br />eftsure a smooth transition. <br />For all future submittals please address correspondence to Mike Boulay and use the <br />procedures which are already set up for our Grand Junction office as summarized below. <br />The address for the Grand Junction office is: 101 South 3rd, Suite 301, Grand Junction, <br />CO 81501. Mike's telephone number is 970-243-1571 and his e-mail is: <br />mike.boulUO,state.co.us. <br />All documents received or issued by the Division will be electronically imaged and <br />digitally filed in the Denver office. In the Coal Program, a "hard copy" of the permit <br />application package for each operation will also be maintained by individual <br />environmental protection specialists, but the electronic permit package and file will be <br />the primary file available for use by operators and the general public, as well as DRMS <br />staff. <br />All document imaging is done at the Denver office. To ensure that this process is <br />implemented as consistently and efficiently as possible, we are requesting that you follow <br />the procedures below for submittal of information to the Division. <br />• For revision applications, bond release applications, permit transfer applications and <br />similar applications or requests, please submit two sets to Mike, at the Grand <br />Junction DRMS office, and one set to our Denver office. Adequacy responses and <br />other correspondence should be handled the same as initial submittals; one set to <br />Denver and two sets to Mike in Grand Junction. At the conclusion of the review <br />process, once the Division's decision is final, please prepare and submit one set of <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
