ame <br />Earth & Environmental <br />B) Best Management Practices <br />Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the VLF Phase 5 Project. Storm water <br />controls were maintained throughout the week. Precipitation was not substantial during the week. <br />V) VLF Geosynthetics <br />Exposure of the Phase IV geomembrane, at the northeast corner of the facility (approximate stations <br />G13 +00 to G15 +00), was performed using a John Deere 35D excavator. The bulk of the excavation <br />was performed using a CAT 375 excavator. This was performed to re- certify the liner in this area. <br />An AMEC representative was present at all times during the exposure. <br />CQA ACTIVITIES: <br />SUMMARY: <br />The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction <br />activities of the contractor. <br />AMEC observed placement of structural fill within the Phase 5 VLF fill area. <br />AMEC observed structural fill placement (processed ore) within the Phase IV VLF constantly. Nuclear <br />density testing was performed during placement. <br />AMEC observed and accepted subgrade preparation within the Phase 5 fill area. <br />AMEC observed the Phase IV geomembrane exposure constantly. <br />AMEC observed the removal of the 84" culvert within the Phase 5 VLF footprint. <br />Testing Summary <br />Laboratory testing continues (Particle Size Distribution, Atterberg Limits, and Moisture - Density <br />Compaction testing) for sampled materials. <br />GENERAL PROJECT ITEMS <br />Summary of Concerns: <br />No concerns <br />Summary of Planning Items: <br />Structural fill placement within the Phase 5 VLF footprint will continue. <br />Continue processing soil liner fill at the South Cresson Clay Processing area. <br />Continue subgrade preparation within the Phase 5 VLF footprint. <br />Continue construction of the ADR and Crusher waterlines. <br />Continue exposure of the Phase IV VLF geomembrane for re- certification. <br />Summary of Non - conformances: <br />None Issued <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 10.24.09.D.doc <br />
