August 2002 -30- 003 -2203
On Wednesday, June 26, an Ames D6M Dozer damaged the Phase IVa geomembrane at panel
41 P -132. The dozer was stopped and the extent of the damage was identified (approximately
3 feet by 1 feet) by Golder. Ames exposed geomembrane in areas with less than 24 inches of
DCF for Golder observation. On the same day, Golder observed and documented the
geomembrane repairs performed by Poly -Flex.
On Wednesday August 21, an Ames Dozer ran over a grade stake damaging the Phase IVa
geomembrane at panels P- 463/465 approximately 55 feet from the Phase /IVa tie -in. Ames
exposed geomembrane in the area of the grade stake for Golder observation. On August 27,
Golder observed and documented the geomembrane repairs performed by Poly -Flex.
On Saturday August 24, an Ames 777 haul truck traveled on less than 10 feet of DCF in Phase
IVa during DCF placement. The truck was stopped and the extent of the area requiring DCF
removal was identified (approximately 2 feet by 12 feet) by Golder. On Monday August 26,
Ames exposed geomembrane for Golder observation. No geomembrane damage was observed
and the DCF was replaced according to specifications.
4.2.8 Temperature Monitoring
Golder monitored ambient air temperatures using a HOBO Pro Series data logging
thermometer. Temperatures were measured every 30 minutes. The lowest and highest daily
temperatures are summarized in Table 2.
During placement of SF, when the ambient air temperature was less than 32 °F for longer than
1 hour in the previous 24 hours, Golder was required to monitor the fill temperatures at depths
of 3 inches and 6 inches, at a frequency of 6 tests per acre, and calculate the average fill
temperature from the lower temperature of the 3 -inch and 6 -inch tests. A summary of fill
temperature monitoring is presented in Table 2.
0
1A00U201\0400tCcnRA 080210012M04M04740Mdoc Colder Associates
