Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project
Quality Assurance Monitoring.and Test Results
Liner Recertification
December 17, 2009
ameO
The laboratory test results are summarized in Tables 4 and 5 presented in Appendix G.
4.1.1 Grain Size Distribution
AMEC completed the grain size distribution (gradation) of samples of SLF and DCF. The
results of gradation analyses are presented in Appendix G and summarized in Tables 4 and 5.
AMEC performed 1 CQA gradation of SLF for the Phase IVa ramp area. The testing
frequency (approximately one test per 300 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified
testing frequency of one test per 5,000 cubic yards. The CQA gradations performed of
SLF met project specifications. The SLF CQA gradation results are presented in
Appendix G and summarized in Table 4.
AMEC performed 2 CQA gradations of DCF for the Phase IVa ramp and Phase IVc LOB
areas. The testing frequency (approximately one test per 410 cubic yards) exceeded the
minimum specified testing frequency of one test - per 20,000 cubic yards. The DCF CQA
gradations met project specifications, and the results are presented in Appendix G and
summarized in Table 5.
4.1.2 Moisture Content
AMEC measured oven moisture contents of SLF and DCF as part of the CQA program.
Moisture content data are presented in Appendix G.
4.1.3 Atterberg Limits
AMEC performed Atterberg limit testing of all fill materials. All fill materials, with the exception of
SLF were non - plastic. The SLF and DCF samples tested met project specifications for
Atterberg Limits.
The SLF Atterberg limits testing frequency (approximately one test per 300 cubic yards)
exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per 5,000 cubic yards. The
plasticity index of the CQA SLF sample met the project specification of plasticity index greater
than or equal to 10. Atterberg limit test results for SLF are presented in Appendix G and
summarized in Table 4.
4.1.4 Proctor Compaction Tests
AMEC performed standard Proctor compaction tests of SLF in order to compare in -place
densities and moisture contents with laboratory determined values of maximum dry density and
optimum moisture content. AMEC performed 1 CQA Standard Proctor compaction tests of SLF.
The testing frequency (approximately one test per 300 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum
specified testing frequency of one test per 5,000 cubic yards.
