Mr. Musick:
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit C-81-010
Fourth Quarter 2009 Sediment Pond Inspections
RIEC,?:-5mn
OEC 2 82009
Divisior' ar Neclarnation,
Mining and Safety
Impoundment inspection results for the fourth quarter of 2009 are enclosed. All impoundment
inspections were conducted by a qualified impoundment inspector. Inspections took place on
October 27'h, December 1 S', December 2nd, December 4'" and December 17".
Maintenance items noted during the inspections were minor and are listed below:
Johnson #9 - possible seep at downstream toe - will check again when the snow melts
West Pyeatt #1 -replace sediment marker
Sage #2 - replace sediment marker
West Flume - replace sediment marker
Middle Flume #3 - needs to be cleaned (work is planned before spring runoff)
It is difficult to verify the presence of sediment markers in ponds that are full or nearly full as the
markers are submerged. Sediment markers in the drier impoundments are also popular rubbing
spots for cattle and wildlife and tend to get knocked over or broken off. Markers will be replaced
in the spring when access is improved.
Contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Sincerely, 4 M RM,gs;e%,,
20537 z
James M.
