B. Water Duality. State how applicable state and federal water quality standards wff be met Describe measures or
rrlanagernentpradiaes to be used to minimize water quality impacts and meet 4W&aWe standards.
1. State whether water is to be used in the operation, - and describe the quandly, source, methods and design of diversions,
storage, use, disposal, and treatment bcftes lndude assumptions for siting conveyance or storage facr7fhes.
2 Describe methods to control erosion and surface water runoff from aff dsturbed areas, inducting waste and taffings dumps.
3. Describe proposed surface water and groundwater quality monlorfng, if required, to demonstrate oanpliance with federal or
state water gm*standards.
4. Describe the measures to be used to minim¢e potential water quality Impacts during seasonal closures, or for a temporary
cessation of operations.
5. ff land 4Wkstion is proposed for waste water disposal, the location and Wmabon of the land Wkow system must be
described Also describe how vegetation, sal, and surface and groundwater quay wN be protected I land apprkado is
used
Water for drilling operations will be taken from the Ruby Trust Mine
potable water supply. With four drills running several thousand
gallons of water will be used each day. Water will be transported
from the mine to the drill sites by truck mounted water tanks. All
drilling water will be recycled. Drilling return water will be
contained in tanks and /pits and re used. Water from drilling
operations will not be allowed to enter the surface drainage.
Because the drill sites are primarily in talus fields very little
surface run off will occur. Surface run off will be diverted off
C. Sdid Wastes. Describe the gnrantity and the physical and dwxW dnwacted 0cs of solid waste produced by the operation.
D=nbe how the wastes wr71 be disposed of mduding bcation and design of facia, or treated so as to minimize adverse impacts.
All solid wastes will be removed from the sites and disposed of_
either at the Ruby Trust Mine or taken to 0uray. Bathroom facilities,
bunkhouse and storage facilities are also available at the Ruby
Trust Mine.
D. Scenic Values. Descnbe protection of scenic values such as screening, slash disposal, or timely redamaWn-
While scenic values will be impacted the effect will be short term.
Many visitors will.appreciate the fact that drilling is taken
place.
(if now spoor is weeded m fiff aw a brook of isfwMaden, we aAN"d skeefic and amrab fonw)
-4-
