Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Re: Peroulis Brothers Snake River Pit, Application M- 2009 -079, Reclamation Liability Estimate.
Dear Mr. Zehner,
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety has received Baseline Consulting response to staff review
of the above referenced application. It appears that all issues have been addressed to meet the
minimum requirements of the Act and Rules. Staff notes the public comment period expired on
December 7, 2009. All other agencies comments appear to have been addressed and no comments of
opposition were received. Therefore, the final step prior to a decision is the agreement of the
reclamation liability estimate.
Please find enclosed the Final Reclamation Liability Estimate prepared by DRMS. While tasks are broken
down differently the estimate amount is similar to that provided within the application. Staff has
calculated the reclamation liability to be $145,000.00. This is a difference of $2,000.00 overall between
the Division's and consultant's estimates. Please review the estimate and contact staff immediately if
there are any discrepancies or errors that might affect the overall costs. If Precision accepts the
estimate, staff will need written or verbal acceptance in order to finish the decision process.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
J. 4jlj--Ilf
G.
