III COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br /> inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br /> evidence supvortina the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DBMS.No one represented the operator <br /> during the field inspection.The east mine was not inspected due to the snow cover. <br /> Train Loadout <br /> The three entrance roads to this site were clear of snow.Mind id signs were uo at each of the entrances. Most of <br /> the site was covered in snow. The bench outslope was snow covered but appeared to be stable.The sediment <br /> pond was also snow covered.The pond's bin wall appeared to be stable.There were no rail cars on site.The <br /> topsoil stockpile on the west end of the site was snow covered.The toosoii sign was on the stockpile. <br /> Temporary Coal Stockpile <br /> This site was comoletely covered in snow.There were no rail cars on site.The mine id sign was on its post. <br /> Run-of-Mine Stockpile Area <br /> This area had about 6 to 8 inches of snow cover.The mine id sign was up at the entrance.The entrance road was <br /> not graded and the chain was strung across the road. Silt fence was in place,although partially buried in the <br /> snow. There was only snow in the sediment pond.The pond embankment was snow covered but appeared to be <br /> stable. The vrimary discharge vine and the emergency discharge svillwav were functional. <br /> West Mine <br /> The snow cover at this site was about 6 to 8 inches deep.The road uv to the west mine area was graded only up <br /> to the top of the hill,about 300 feet shy of the mine site.The backfilled and graded west mine slopes were snow <br /> covered but appeared to be stable.Game trails in the snow were evident across the backfilled slopes.The two <br /> sediment vonds were covered in snow as well.The mine ID sign was uv on its post. <br /> Well Field <br /> There was about an 8 inch snow cover at this site.The entrance road had been graded but was still snow packed. <br /> The mine id sign was at the entrance and surface disturbance markers were up around the site.There were no <br /> problems with the pump house or the water tank. <br /> c:/word2007/bowie 1/insp l 209 <br />
