Bond Reduction for Area 3
Dear Mr. Holbrook:
Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on
September 30, 1993, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct
coal mining operations by Honeywood Coal Company, P.O. Box 587, Nucla,
Colorado 81424, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews
and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated
thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
The applicant proposes to revise the required bond amount for Mining Area 3 of
the Hamilton Mine. Because only a small portion of the area was mined, the
bond amount would be reduced from $303,250 to $68,935.
The Hamilton Mine permit area is located in portions of the following
described lands:
Township 46 North, Range 15 West, N.M.P.M.
Section 28: SE/4, NE/4SW/4
Section 32: E/2E/2
Section 33: All
Township 45 North, Range 15 West, N.M.P.M.
Section 4: Portions of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12
Section 5: N/2NE/4NE/4
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map
of Naturita, Colorado.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public
inspection at the Montrose County Courthouse Annex, 300 Main, Nucla,
