The mine was idled
after only four pits were mined from Area 3 because the coal supply
contract was not renewed.
The reclamation bond for Area 3 was calculated based on mining the
entire area. Since only a small portion of the area was mined, the
required reclamation bond has been recalculated based on quantities
actually handled during the mining of the four pits.
Enclosed is an application for a technical revision to reduce the
required bond amount from $616,250 to $381,935. Revised pages
2.05-20ii - 2.05-20v document the new bond amount. As soon as the
backfill and grading work is complete, I will process an
application for a bond reduction. The bond reduction will be based
on a release of 60% of $381,935, which should allow the bond to be
reduced to $152,774.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
k,.a
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Rick Ward
