2 . 05 . 3 OPERATION PLAN - PERMIT AREA TR -o I <br /> ( 1 ) Production Methods and Equipment <br /> The mining method to be employed is open pit strip <br /> mining. Wheel scrapers and track dozers or other rubber tired or <br /> tracked equipment will be used to handle topsoil and overburden <br /> material . The overburden material will require blasting . A <br /> track mounted drill hole rig will be used to drill the blast <br /> holes . The required blasting agent will be delivered to the mine <br /> as needed from a local vendor. The applicant anticipates the use <br /> of Anfo detonated with electric blasting. <br /> The equipment expected to be utilized for the mining <br /> operation is as follows : <br /> - Two each wheel tractor scrapers , Caterpillar 637 <br /> - Three each track type tractors, 2-D10� 1-D8 <br /> - One each wheel loader, Caterpillar 988 <br /> - One each 4000 gallon highway style water truck <br /> - One each motor grader, Caterpillar 14 <br /> - One each track drill , Ingersoll Rand 6100 <br /> - Two each service trucks <br /> - Two each pick-ups <br /> - Two each coal haul trucks , contract <br /> The sizes and equipment makes indicated above are for <br /> reference only and will not necessarily represent the equipment <br /> actually used for the operation. <br /> The topsoil from approximately the first five to seven <br /> pits will e s rippe an p aced in a s oc pile along a ort <br /> line of Section 33 . T e over urden from t e first pit in Mining <br /> Area No. 1 and Mining Area No. 2 will be placed off the coal in a <br /> temporary spoil pile. After the removal of all of the recovera- <br /> ble coal from the first pit , the overburden and other spoil <br /> material from the advancing pit will be backfilled into the first <br /> pit. Backfilled material will be handled by scrapers or other <br /> rubber tired or tracked equipment , and will be compacted and <br /> stabilized as it is handled. Any necessary grading wi_l_ be_.done. <br /> by dozers with the finish__work done by__moto.r_.gr._.ader_s_ or._ pull type <br /> scrapers . Topsoil excavated from subsequent pits will be placed <br /> `on backfilled and regraded pits to accomplish contemporaneous <br /> reclamation. <br /> • 2 .05-2 May 1991 <br />
