December 2, 2009
Mr. Nathan Green
Colorado West Regulatory Branch
Corps of Engineers
400 Rood Ave., Room 142
Grand Junction, CO 81501 -2563
RE: Response to Comment Letter dated Nov. 24, 2009
Peroulis Brothers Snake River Pit, File No. M- 2009 -079
Dear Mr. Green:
C
The purpose of this letter is to provide response to the comments you provided in your November 24th,
2009 letter to Russ Means for the Peroulis Brothers Snake River Pit. The following are the responses:
Comment: To ascertain the extent of waters on the project site, the applicant should prepare a wetland
delineation.....
Response: The applicant and I visited the site in May of 2009 and walked the entire pit area. The
pit area is an upland desert landscape. There are no wetlands within the proposed pit boundary.
There are two intermittent drainages immediately to the north and south of the pit boundary. The
proposed pit boundary was delineated to ensure that no work will be performed within these two
intermittent drainages. Therefore, there are no proposed impacts to wetlands or other waters of
the United States.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
A -1r ,e "gale
Chris Rundall, PE
Division Manager
Cc: Russell Means, Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
Dave Zehner, Precision Excavating
Corporate Headquarters
Denver West Office Park Building 4
1536 Cole Boulevard, Suite 220
Golden, Colorado 80401
Ph 303.940.9966
Fax 303,940.9959
Northern Bureau
Downtown Greeley
710 11th Avenue, Suite 105
Greeley, Colorado 80631
Ph 970.353.7600
Fax 970.353.7601
Wyoming
Montgomery Building
109 East 17th Street, Suite 1
Cheyenne, Wyorning 82001
Ph 307.635.1734
Fax 866.242.9106
Northern Mountains
Pentagon West Building
2740 Acre Lane, Suite 205
Steamboat Springs, Colorado 80487
Ph 970.879.1825
Fax 866.242.9106
