(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M- 9nnA -m3
INSPECTION DATE: 19iQin9 INSPECTOR ❑S INITIALS: –RK—
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a follow up monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites to
be inspected during fiscal years 2009 and 2010 and to verify that a slurry wall had not
been in place.
Present during the inspection was Mr. Rusty Cocrhan of Lafarge. The site is located
adjacent to Fountain Colorado municipal boundaries at 5329 elevation.
When the site was permitted in 2006, the operator had anticipated approval by the county,
Once approval was obtained a slurry wall was to be constructed to allow dry mining.
Since that time the operator had not been able to obtain county approval to conduct
mining and the 745 acres permitted land was still being utilized as farm land with corn
and cattle farming. A large portion of the proposed land along the east side still had
corn plants at the time of the inspection.
Rusty said even though the county planning sent there proposal with negative
recommendation to the commissioners there is a good chance it will be approved soon so
mining can commence soon after the installation of the slurry wall.
The proposed area was driven and inspected no mining related activity was noted. Even
though no mining is taking place, the operator is required to place a permit sign at the
access to the property. Mr. Cohrhan agreed to place a permit sign and submit a photo as
proof as soon as possible,
I & E Contact Address cc: r CE
NAME: MR.
