Additional geological modeling and mine engineering has been done since PR-02
was permitted. With more reliance on truck/shovel operations, additional temporary
fill volumes are also needed to support the planned pit dimensions. Following is a
comparison between the approved, PR-02 plan for temporary and permanent fill
volumes relative to volumes proposed under TR-81:
Permanent Fill Volumes PR-02
West Taylor Fill 49, 934, 000
East Taylor Fill 20, 409, 000
Total 70, 343, 000
Temporary Fill Volumes
Section 16 Fill 0
West Taylor Fill 6,091,000
East Taylor Fill 46, 213, 000
Total 52, 304, 000
Rule 2.10 - Maps and Miscellaneous
TR-81
10, 000, 000
50, 000, 000
60, 000, 000
11, 969, 000
11, 969, 000
2. On new Map 45 - South Taylor Fill, there is no "proposed post-mining
topography line on cross-section D-D'. Please add this information and resubmit
Map 45.
Response: There are no changes between the two surfaces along this cross-
section; both the "Postmining Topography prior to TR-81" and the proposed changes
to the surface are identical. A note has been added to Cross-section D-D' to clarify
this.
3. On new Map 45 - South Taylor Fill, Colowyo has several different topography
lines drawn on the cross-sections. These lines include "pre-mine topo", "approved
topo" and "proposed topo". While these lines are all useful for evaluating the
proposed post-mining topography and the proposed changes to the currently
approved post-mining topography, the labels will be confusing upon final approval of
the revision (when the "proposed topo" becomes the "approved topo" and the
"approved topo" is a historic "approved topo"). Colowyo may want to rethink the
labeling of Map 45 or plan to resubmit the map with different labels once all
technical adequacy issues have been addressed.
Response: The requested changes have been made. Both surfaces are still
displayed because we feel they are useful in understanding to changes proposed.
As discussed with Jim Stark, the older, approved postmining topography is labeled
as the "Postmining Surface Prior to TR-81 ". The newer surface is labeled as the
"Postmining Surface".
