J. J. Dudash -2- December 1, 2009
geotechnical hole will be drilled on an existing drill site occupied by TC-03-01. The 700 foot
deep geotechnical hole will be continuously cored 3.8" diameter with a resultant 2.4" core
diameter. A six inch diameter surface casing will be installed.
There are a number of gob vent holes that will not be drilled because of the change in the
mine plan. They are as follows:
TR-52
1. GVB 9B 1,480'
2. GVB 10B 1,925' plus one drill pad.
3. GVB 10DG previously 10C 1,650'.
4. Right of entry on
BLM managed land is, subject to stipulations, authorized by Federal Coal Lease COC-
61209.
Affected and Disturbed Area
The main entries will affect 30 acres. The North Mains Rooms will affect 31.6 acres. The
geotechnical hole will not disturb any area since it is to be drilled from an existing drill site.
The affected area to the northeast where longwall panels B-10 and B-11 were proposed will
be amended when the mine plan to the west is submitted through permit revision number 12.
The deleted GVBs and associated drill sites and roads will reduce the disturbed area 5.7
acres and reduce the affected area 4.9 acres as follows:
Drill Sites and Roads
Affected Area Changes for TR-65
Affected Area Disturbed Area
Inside Outside Total
TR-52 -3.4 -0.8 -4.2
MR-104 -1.5 0.0 -1.5

Total -4.9 -0.8 -5.7
Therefore this revision will increase the affected area 56.7 (61.6 - 4.9) acres and reduce the
disturbed area 5.7 acres.
