U9
This letter is to inform you that United Companies has the authority to answer
your inspection letter dated September 16, 2009. The operations at the "Seahorse
Ranch West Gravel Pit"(M-2001-113) are being run by United Companies as of this
date. There are some lingering contractual obligations which have prevented Varra
and United from transferring ownership of the pit, and the DRMS permit. However,
those obligations are being addressed, and I expect the pit and the permits to be
transferred soon.
I have been in contact with United Companies, and the 3 issues outlined in
your letter are being addressed, or have been addressed already. I have notified
United Companies to provide documentary evidence of the steps taken to address
the 3 items in your inspection report.
Also, in your inspection report you mentioned the bond would be re-
calculated. I believe that the transfers of the pit property and the permit will not be
done by the time the bond has been redone. With that in mind, could you please
copy United Companies on any correspondence involving the bond?
If you have any questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Enclosed with this letter you will find my business card, with all of my information.
Respectfully,
Garrett Varra
Vice President of Operations
Varra Companies
CC: Peter Kearl, Pete Siegmund
