In today's
troubled economy, homegrown business and industry will help our local economies. Mining in this area carries a
long tradition, a tradition that ultimately brought Colorado into statehood. This year marked the i Se Anniversary
of the discovery of gold in Clear Creek County.
I am familiar with Venture Resources' project, and am specifically aware that:
• A mineral processing null and tailings impoundment is proposed.
• The project will be processing abandoned mine waste rock.
• This is a local company that plans on hiring local residents and supporting local businesses.
By processing abandoned mine waste rock and removing the acid forming and heavy metal contaminants, the
proposed project will go a long way to beginning to improve the conditions of the Clear Creek watershed Finally, a
pro - active solution instead of the current ones that do little, or nothing. Covering up the problem or just spending
tax dollars studying it does not solve the problem.
I would like to encourage the DRMS to proceed, without haste, in approving the permit for this proposed operation
Sincere
Printed: , 1.
