The revision
was submitted by Twentymile Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the
Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
Twentymile Coal Company proposes to install a waterline from the 18-left Borehole to the mine water system at
the Fish Creek Borehole. This line will allow Twentymile Coal Company to manage mine water in the Western
Mining District.
The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles Southwest of Steamboat
Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
In portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, T4N, R86W; Sections 32 and 33, T6N, R86W; Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35
and 36 in T5N, R87W; and all of T5N, R86W with the exception of Sections 34, 35, and 36.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Dunkley, Rattlesnake
Butte.
Twentymile Coal Company (TCC) proposes to disturb an additional 75.2 acres in order to bury a water line
between the 18 - left borehole and the Fish Creek borehole facilities. The water line will allow TCC to manage
mine water in the Western Mining District. Lands proposed to be affected are located in Sections 23, 24, and 25,
T25N, R57W.
The area proposed for disturbance has been historically used for pasture for domestic cattle and has been seeded
to introduced pasture grasses.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver - Grand )unction - Durango Active and Inactive Mines
