Januarv 15. 008 <br />Paige 48 <br />• Geologic structure is favorable oriented for local dip pit stability because the bedding <br />dips into the highwall and sub-vertical sandstone jointing is not overturned. <br />The photograph ofZ-Dip highwall as of Cut 42, shown in Figure 34, illustrates that the highwall <br />is in excellent condition. <br />5. 2. 2 .1-Pit Highwall Afining and Dragline Dip-Pit AVining Plan <br />The mine plan for A-Dip Pit is shown in Figure 35. Recent A-Pit mining has only been <br />mined to the I I-Seam because of' the thick overburden in this area. The highwall is on Cut #45 <br />progressing eastward. Ilighwall mining has been tested at the north end of A-Pit Cut #45 fior <br />approximately 150 fi. <br />Surface mining ofthe A-Pit area is planned to continue eastward the along strike using a <br />dragline cut-and-fill mining method.
