-6 <br />2.7.5.3a GROUND-WATER WATER LEVELS, EAST PANEL <br />A minimum of one year of water-level monitoring in the eastern area of Trapper <br />has been conducted to define baseline conditions in this area. Table 2.7-21a gives <br />the aquifer in which each well is completed. Figures 2.7-29a through 2.7-29q give <br />the hydrographs for the static water levels for the pre-mining Trapper Mine wells. <br />Maps M54 through M54C present the water-level elevation contours for several of the <br />aquifers in the Upper Williams Fork Formation. Map contours were developed from <br />September, 1986 measurements. Part B of Appendix V presents the depth to and water- <br />level elevation for the east panel wells. <br />Upper Unit of the Williams Fork Formation <br />• <br />The Upper Williams Fork as a whole acts more as an aquitard than as an <br />aquifer, but some of the individual strata do behave as aquifers. Generally, the <br />pressure conditions are different for each aquiferous stratum, and the trend is such <br />that the deeper aquifers generally have higher pressures. The depth to water is <br />variable because of the irregular topography at the site. Appendix V tabulates the <br />water levels for the pre-mine water levels for wells in the eastern portion of the <br />Trapper permit, as well as the operational water-level monitoring results. <br />QR Aquifer <br /> <br />The QR aquifer in the pre-mining area is monitored through wells GP-1, GP-5 <br />and GP-6.
