RECLAMATION RECOMMENDATIONS
It is our understanding that upon completion of gravel removal that the site will be reclaimed as
livestock pasture rangeland. It is also our understanding that the pit life will be approximately
20+ year and reclamation of disturbed areas will be completed in stages
During gravel removal from the site any topsoil material should be removed and stockpiled in a
non erosive configuration. (>3:1 slopes) for future reclamation purposes. Topsoil stockpiles will
be seeded to the same seed mix recommended for the general area. Upon completion of the
mining, slope should be returned to a 3:1 or flatter slope as natural topography dictates. Any
topsoil overburden will be spread over the flatter areas and reseeded with the following seed mix.
Depending upon fluctuating annual
precipitation, reseeding may be necessary. Noxious weeds listed in the Grand County Noxious
Weed Mgt. Plan will be controlled on the site during and after mining.
