Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
- Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has finished its review of
)ow's responses, dated November 6, 2009, to the Division's adequacy response letter dated October
2009. All issues have been resolved.
1. The hydrologic data sheet for surface water monitoring site E -2 does not show any full suite
laboratory data for 2008, even though the hydrologic monitoring schedule on page 5 of the
2008 AHR shows that a full suite analysis is required for the 2nd and 3r quarters, if a sample is
available. Please explain.
The Division has no further concerns. The November 6, 2009 submittal contained the revised
pages for insertion into the 2008 AHR. No exceedances were noted in the 2008 data.
The hydrologic data sheet for surface water monitoring site NF -1 does not show any 4 th quarter
2008 data for a full suite analysis, as required by the hydrologic monitoring schedule on page
5 of the 2008 AHR. Please explain this omission.
The Division has no further concerns. In the November 6, 2009 submittal, Oxbow stated that
field parameters were sampled for the 4 th quarter 2008 but laboratory samples were not run for
the same quarter. However, this problem was rectified for the 4 th quarter of 2009.
3 The hydrologic data sheet for ground water monitoring site EC -14, listed as E -14 on the data
sheet, does not show any 3 rd quarter full suite analysis for 2008, even though this is required by
the hydrologic monitoring schedule shown on page 5 of the 2008 AHR. Please explain this
omission.
I
'Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
