Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Attached is one copy of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's (Division)
inspection report for the November 3, 2009 Partial Phase I Bond Release inspection at the Bear
No. 3 Mine. Please note that a summary of the results of the bond release inspection can be found
on page 1 of the comments section of the report.
Because additional reclamation work needs to be done, the Division cannot make a proposed
decision at this time. Once the additional reclamation work has been finished, the Division will
conduct a follow up inspection to confirm the results. Because the needed field work only
involves the removal of scattered mine - related debris and, possibly, the removal of the fence, the
Division will conduct the follow up bond release inspection as part of its normal monthly
inspection.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
d
oseph J. dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
Attachment
c:\word2007\bear3\sl4blminspletI
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
