November 9, 2009 <br />CCWF Comment Letter to Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety — Page 2 <br />We would expect that responsible mining below the water table would be conducted in a similar fashion to <br />the Henderson Mine. This is not the case with Empress Gold Mining & Milling Inc.'s proposed operation <br />at the Stanley Mine. <br />The application states that both the Phoenix Mine and the Two Brothers Mine provide for underground <br />storage. The Phoenix is a tourist mine, and the Two Brothers Mine is closed. Both are well above the <br />elevation of Clear Creek and are dry.
