C -81 -042 and C -84 -067) <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has scheduled a bond release /termination of jurisdiction <br />i inspection at the Amess- McGriffin and Coal Gulch Mines. The Division has prepared bond release <br />application packages for these revoked - permit sites and found the packages complete on November 16, <br />2009. The .land surface of the approximate 765 acres of bond release area is privately- owned. The coal <br />that was mined was state - owned. The amount of land surface disturbed by both mining operations is <br />approximately 21.5 acres. <br />Time and date of the inspection: 9:00 a.m., December 9, 2009 <br />Location of the inspection: Arness- McGriffin and Coal Gulch Mines, 4.5 highway miles west of <br />Durango, Colorado on north side of U. S. Highway 160, Sections 21 and 22 T35N -R10W, <br />LaPlata County, Colorado. <br />Purpose of the inspection: To verify that the revoked permit sites meet the regulatory requirements <br />for Phase III bond release (final bond release) and termination of regulatory jurisdiction.
