Pond 2 (undermined by Panel B6 nearly 13 months ago) was identified as a structure, , and has
subsided nearly 10 feet . This was also predicted by the mine in their approved subsidence
monitoring program.
Pond 5, which was undermined by the "Mains," was another structure that the Team identified.
This pond has subsided approximately one foot as a result of mining activity(see Figure 3 3).
Three springs (5, 5A, and 5B) that feed into Pond 5 were identified and categorized as renewable
resource lands. All three springs have likewise subsided one foot and were predicted by the
mine (see Figure 4).
Lastly, the Team observed Gob Vent (degas) boreholes at the bottom of Dove Gulch (see Figure
5). Several of these boreholes have been, or are being installed by the mine to release methane
that has resulted from mining activity.
As a result of this evaluation, the Team determined that the CDRMS is effectively implementing
its program in compliance with the applicable requirements of Rules 2.05.6(6) (a) and 2.05.6(6)
(c), pertaining to the monitoring and reporting of the effects of underground mine subsidence.
Fig*ores
Figure 1 a: Bruce Park Dam and Terror Creek Reservoir
