term monuments to detect subsidence. Rather, the mine performs visual traverses and collects
data and measurements with GPS units.
The fall 2008 subsidence reports for the mine discuss rock fall in the "West Flatiron Road"area
which lies under Panel 21. Although this area was not mined in the past 2 years, subsidence
cracks did develop during that time (see Figure 2). Nevertheless,this subsidence and the
resulting cracks were predicted by the company.
As a result of this evaluation, the Team determined that the CDRMS is effectively implementing
its program in compliance with the applicable requirements of Rules 2.05.6(6) (a) and 2.05.6(6)
(c),pertaining to the monitoring and reporting of the effects of underground mine subsidence.
