Dear Mr. Bear:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has fmished its review of Bowie
Resources LLC's (BRL) submittal dated October 1, 2009 for Technical Revision No. 64 (TR-64). The
following is the resolution status of the Division's questions and comments. Please note that questions nos. 8
and 28 remain unresolved and comment no. 16A, the reclamation cost estimate calculation, has been added.
Geotechnical Review
Page x of Volume IX (the Table of Contents) should be revised to include the Buckhorn Geotech
report dated 18 May 2009.
The Division has no further concerns. The October 1, 2009 submittal contained revised page x that
included the geotechnical report.
2. The current version of Volume IX includes a November 2003 certification, signed by J. E. Stover,
which references the Lambert and Associates stability analyses. This item should be updated to
reflect the additional stability analyses conducted by Buckhorn Geotech.
The Division has no further concerns. The October 1, 2009 submittal contained the updated
certification for Volume IX.
Replacement pages I thru 14 of Volume IX were submitted with the application for TR-64. Not all
of these pages have been revised. For clarity, only those pages that are being changed with this
revision should be included.
The Division has no further concerns. Only revised pages 1, 3, 4, 11, 13 and 14 of Volume IX
were provided in the October 1, 2009 submittal.
On Page 4, first paragraph, the maximum height for CMWDA-2 is provided. Please include a
description of the maximum height proposed for CMWDA-4.
The Division has no further concerns. A reference to a maximum height of 150 feet was added to
page 4 of the October 1, 2009 submittal.
The last sentence of the second paragraph on Page 4 refers to "the following Lambert &
Associates report. " According to page x, Volume U-includes three Lambert reports. Please
speck to which Lambert report is referenced here.
