The cover comparison value for the mesic drainage and improved pasture-subirrigated
types will be determined from undisturbed aeeas of the two types within the permit azea. This value
will be a weighted mean of the herbaceous cover fox the two undisturbed vegetation types. The
weighted mean calculation procedure is as described above in the cover standadd for reclaimed
uplands. The average vegetation covet in the reclaimed mesic drainage areas will be considered
acceptable if it is not less than 90 percent of the covet standard with 90 percent statistical confidence.
The weighting formula to be used for the mesic drainage cover evaluation is:
x~p > .90 (MDa)(xlyfp) + (IPSa)(xlpS))
Ta
with 90 percent statistical confidence
where:
xREV =average vegetation cover, reclaimed area
MDa =mesic drainage acreage, premise area
IPSa =improved pasture-subixrigated, premise azea
• x~ =average reference area all hit herbaceous covet-mesic drainage
PR-02 36 Revised 01/06
