the study area where the production, cover, or woody plant density measurements aze collected
. Shrub establishment areas, which fall in the areas to be sampled for a given year, will be
representatively sampled and assessed separate from the lazger reclamation block. Intensity of
sampling will be a minimum of one location per establishment site unless the site is over 10
acres or until sample adequacy is achieved.
The sampling data collected in any shrub establishment area will be used to determine the
success of that particulaz shrub site. This data will also be used in the wider sampling universe
of the reclamation year for purposes of monitoring the success of that particular pears block.
Reference Area Monitoriap
The extended reference area, or portions thereof, will be periodically motutored for covet,
production, and species presence using similaz methods at intensities appropriate to the
comparisons planned. In general, cover will be sampled to adequacy.
Annual Renorting
• The Annual Reclamation Report will be submitted by Mazch 30 of each yeaz and will report those
items required by 2.04.13(1). Additionally, the following information will be included:
1. Annual berbiade applications and weed and pest control measures
2. Annual topsoil balance reporting
3. Soil and spoil sampling results
4. Revegetadon monitoring
5. Wildlife monitoring
6. Results of sediment pond surveys
Testing for Successful Reclamation
The following discussion details the applicable success criteria, methods to be used in measurement of
parameters, comparisons to be made between reclaimed and undisturbed azeas, and statistical tests to
be performed
An extended reference azea approach will be used for measuring successful revegetation for the
• parameters of cover and production.
PR-02 32 Revised 01/06
