Memo to David Bird 2 October 2, 2009
Perimeter Drain Review Permit No. M-1983-176
other forms of assurance, or must provide an alternate plan for ground water controls that will not require
maintenance.
In addition, to gain DRMS approval for installation of the perimeter drain, the Applicant must provide the
following commitments:
1. Provide engineering oversight during construction of the perimeter drain sufficient to allow for an
engineer's certification that the construction was completed in accordance with the design. The
engineer's certification must be provided for DRMS review and be accompanied by an as-built report
describing the construction, any problems that were encountered and how they were resolved, any
variances from the design that were implemented, the rationale for the variances, and a description of
how the variances might affect the performance of the drain. The as-built report must also include
and description of geotechnical testing conducted and a tabulation of the test results. Of particular
importance to the DRMS review of the as-built report is documentation that the construction adhered
to the gradation specification for the drain pipe bedding.
2. Continued monitoring and reporting to DRMS of the water table elevation in existing wells for two
years after pit backfilling and perimeter drain installation is complete.
enclosure(s)
cAacs files;\My Documents 4-19-06 duu\speer drain review.docx
