g Ill. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> "die-?facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a Complete Inspection of the Hamilton Mine conducted by Marcia Talvitie of the <br /> Colorado DRMS beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 20 October 2009. Dave Andrews, the <br /> landowner, was present during the records check. No representative of the operator <br /> participated in the field inspection. Weather conditions were overcast and cool with <br /> intermittent light rain. <br /> Availability of Records <br /> • Permit records were available for review at the nearby office for the Broad Canyon Landfill. <br /> A completed DRMS Availability of Records form is attached to this report. <br /> Si sand Markers <br /> • The requisite Mine Identification sign was posted at the entrance to the permit area. <br /> • Topsoil stockpiles were posted with identifying signs. <br /> Roads <br /> • Roads throughout the permit area were damp, although not muddy, and allowed vehicular <br /> access to Mining Areas 1 and 3 and Sedimentation Ponds A and B <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> Pond A and Pond B were both dry. No changes were observed from the previous <br /> inspection. <br /> • Inlet and outlet ends of the two 18" diameter corrugated metal pipes at the turnoff to Mining <br /> Area 3 were clear from obstruction and the contributing roadside ditches were in good <br /> condition. <br /> Tgasoil <br /> • Topsoil stockpiles were protected with fencing. <br /> Reclamation Success <br /> • Dave Andrews stated that the weed spray contractor had been on site the previous day, <br /> spraying Russian knapweed with the fall application of the product, "Milestone". He would <br /> be coming back when the weather improved to finish the job. As noted in the 19-Jun-2009 <br /> inspection report,weed locations have been marked using GPS technology. <br /> • Evidence of the preceding day's weed spraying was observed during the field inspection. <br /> Patches of Russian knapweed along the Mining Area No. 3 haul road were colored dark teal <br /> with the marker dye. <br /> Hamilton Mine C-1991-078 20-Oct-2009 <br />
