DRMS INTERNAL MEMORANDUM
Date: 03 November 2009
To: Jason D. Musick
From: Marcia L. Talvitie, P.E.
Subject: Trapper Mine - Permit No. C-1981-010
Review of September 2009 Geotechnical Monitoring Report
At your request, I have reviewed the Semi-annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report prepared by
Trapper Mining Inc. and received by the Division on 02 October 2009.
The frequency of monitoring the various inclinometers, piezometers and benchmarks appears to
have been sufficient for the months of October 2008 through March 2009. In general, I concur
with the analysis presented.
Data for one benchmark, collected on 9/8/09, appears to be anomalous when compared with
prior readings at that location. The site in question is 07-GI6 BM, and a displacement of 6.282'
is reported for cumulative vertical and 3D displacements. Please request that TMI review the
data; verify whether it is accurate; and if it is accurate, provide the Division with additional
analysis and explanation of the changes observed and any issues this apparent movement may
portend.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding the adequacy of this
report.
