Attachment 2
Drill Hole Abandonment and Site Reclamation Procedure
Drill Hole Abandonment
The following procedure was used to backfill the completed drill holes:
1. Upon completion of drilling a slurry of water and Supergel (bentonite) was used to
partially seal the hole to furnish a conductive liquid medium for e-logs.
2. After the liquid settled out, the drill hole was then backfilled with Kwikplug 3/8" chips,
Superplug 80%-90% Bentonite and drill cuttings to within approximately 10 feet of the
surface.
3. Concrete using approximately 5 bags of Premixed Concrete was used to plug the top of
the hole ending just below the surface. The surrounding surface material and topsoil, if
available, was used to cover the plug and bring the ground to the surrounding level.
Site Reclamation Procedure
The following procedure was used to reclaim the drill sites:
1. Upon completion of the drilling and the removal of the equipment, the pit was backfilled
and covered with any available stockpiled topsoil.
2. The area was then scarified and seeded using the approved seed mixture. A copy of the
seed mixture is attached.
3. Any loose brush, branches or deadfall if available was spread sparingly over the site.
