Appendix A - DRMS Form 2 Public
Lynx-Royal JV LLC Slick Rock LH-2 2009 NOI
No roads will be constructed. The only surface disturbance anticipated will be the excavation of
five nominal 10 foot x 10 foot by 3 foot deep containment pits for cuttings and, if needed, air-
lifted water from the drill holes. The estimated disturbed area will be about 100 ft square per
site, or 0.0115 acres in total. The test pits will be within the larger 30 ft x 65 ft proposed drill
pads. For bonding calculations, the entire 1,950 square foot drill pad will be considered
"disturbed" although this is highly unlikely. Total surface disturbance then is estimated to be
about 0.224 acres. Given the equipment and mud pit constraints, a pad can be a more amorphous
shape than indicated above as it is configured to fit around minor topographic and vegetative
features. Figure A-1 is a schematic drawing of a proposed pad with equipment locations and
cuttings/fluid flow.
Drill Pad Schemdtic)l<
(approximate olrnensions - for unexcavated pads)
65
/ "N""` '?"" Cut material will be temporarily placed
in a pile or piles adjacent to the access trail or drill site, and then scattered back over the trail or
site during reclamation. See Attachment B for a photo record of the proposed drill sites and
access trails.
Drill Hole Abandonment
A) Plugging Procedure
- Dry or Damp Hole - The drill hole will be backfilled as much as possible with
cuttings, using the mineralized material first. After backfilling to within about 5
feet from the surface, a spray foam plug will be brought to within about 2 feet of
Page 3 of 5
