(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2009-053
INSPECTION DATE: 10/l_5/n9 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: MA(-
OBSERVATIONS
The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division). Randy Robins of Robins Construction, LLLP was also present for the inspection. The Robins Rock
Pit is located 4 miles northwest of Antonito, Colorado.
This was a pre-operational inspection of a 110c Reclamation Permit. The permit application is currently under
Division revii-w the DiViginn'C r1Af.kinn slate is NnvemhPr 19, 2449. The phbl,c notice sign was clearly posted
at the site entrance and the permit boundary was delineated by monument markers. Currently the site is
permitted under a Special 111 Reclamation Permit which was approved by the Division on December 21, 2007.
The Special 111 Reclamation Permit will be released upon approval of the 110c Reclamation Permit.
The permit boundary configuration for the Special 111 Reclamation Permit will remain the same for the 110c
Reclamation permit. The affected acreage at the current site is 9.7 acres and will not change with the approval of
the 110c Reclamation Permit. Mining will progress westward into the face of a mesa. The mesa ranges from 10
to 30 feet in height and is dominated by basaltic lava outcrops. The product will be extracted using explosives.
There are several structures located within 200 feet of the affected area including: barb wired fencing, an
irrigation ditch, center pivot sprinkler, an irrigation pond, and an unpaved access road. All of these structures
were identified in the permit application. The post-mining land use for the site is residential; the land use of the
surrounding area is primarily agriculture.
Based on this inspection, no observations were made that would restrict the approval of this application.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Randy Robins
OPERATOR: Robins Construction.
