The basis of the need for extension is to allow Denison time to prepare and submit responses to the
Division's technical adequacy questions, which appear in the Division's letter dated September 2, 2009.
The amendment's current decision date is November 3, 2009, which was extended by this office due to its complexity.
The Division has approved the operator's request: the decision date will be extended by 60 days and is reset to
January 4, 2010. Please be reminded that the adequacy issues must be properly addressed for this office to consider
approving this application. The operator is further reminded that all outstanding adequacy issues must be addressed by
the close of business on the new decision date.
Please provide two copies of all your responses, by submitting them directly to me at the Division's Durango field
office: 691 CR 233, Room A-2, Durango, CO 81301. I look forward to receiving the response materials.
Sincerely,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Steve Shuey, DRMS Grand Junction
David Bird, DRMS Denver
Helen Mary Johnson, BLM Durango
(c:\09-10 docs\Carnation EPP ext appr/rco)
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
