(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2009-079
INSPECTION DATE: 10-20-09 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety normal program
for review of new applications. The Peroulis Snake River Pit is a 112c application under review by Division of
Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS). David Zehner, representative for Precision Excavation met the inspector
on site.
The required public notice per Rule 1.6.2(b) was observed at the access point posted on a wooden pallet just off the
main road. Currently the proposed permit boundaries are delineated by grade stakes at key corners that surround the
proposed area. Permanent t-posts or other means should be used to clearly delineate the permit boundaries prior to
any disturbance on site.
Overall the site is flat slightly rolling terrain. Drainage is gradually to the north. A drainage ditch is in place on the
far west end of the proposed project area that directs stormwater from the county road away from the collection
ditch. A 16" CMP drainage pipe is installed across the county road at this point. The applicant has addressed the
impacts to the drainage within the application and will be reviewed.
Vegetation and soils appear to be depicted accurately within the application. Primary vegetation is low lying
sagebrush, prickly pear cactus and rabbit brush intermingled with native grasses. Cheat grass is prevalent across the
entire region but no other undesirable vegetation was noted.
No utilities or other man-made structures were observed. No noteworthy pre-exisiting trash or debris was observed.
Overall, Map C-1, Exisiting Conditions appears to represent the site very well. No issues or problems are noted that
need to be addressed. The Public Notice for the application should start within the next ten days.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no.
970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
?
