Science Researcher Scientist --TP <br />RE: Operator: Tracy and Ed Grimes; Dill Pit; File No. M-2009-077 <br />Section 28, Tvvp S, Rn 67 W, 6th P.M., Elbert Count <br />CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL <br />The proposed operation does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of ground <br />water mast not occur during or after minting operations. <br />CJ The proposed operation will consume. ground water by: ? evaporation, E dust control, Qreclamation, <br />water removed in the mined product, [Q processing, other; <br />Prior to initiation of these uses of ground water, the applicant will need,to obtain either a gravel pit or <br />other type, of well permit, as applicable, However, prior to obtaining a permit, art approved, water supply . <br />plan or decreed plan for augmentation is required. <br />Prior to,_app`roving a well permit, the applicant must conduct a field inspection of the site'and document <br />the locations. of all wells Within 6Q0 feet of the permit area. The applicant must then obtain 'a waiver of <br />objection from all.well owners with wells within 000 feet of the permit area or request a hearing before <br />the State .Engineer. <br />The applicant'has indicated plans to use other water for dust control purposes at the permit site. The <br />source of water for dust control is to be obtained from the operator,. Applicant. should be. able :to <br />document, `that the water carne from a source approved for industrial -use. Additionally, as per this <br />proposal, typically no water for processing of material will be required, but if material washin is needed,' <br />the water will be supplied from off-site or from an existing pond on the property. Per this. proposal, no <br />ponds are presently on the site or are proposed for the site, Water from.a pond cannot be used unless <br />the applicant can. demonstrate legal use of the water. This Office does not have enough information <br />about water from "off-site" or. from an "existing pond" to provide further comment. Applicant':rimay contact <br />the water commissioner for further information. <br />"The applicant has not identified any proposed use'of water at the permit site.
